Fargo Davies wins NDHSAA Girls Tennis Team Dual State Championship

GRAND FORKS, N.D. – Another girls tennis program in the state experienced the thrill of winning a team dual state title match for the first time.

A year ago, Mandan walked away with the team dual state championship and on Thursday, June 2 it was Fargo Davies turn to join the list of programs to have won a team dual state title.

Fargo Davies defeated Minot 4-1 at Choice Health Fitness in Grand Forks in the championship of the 2022 NDHSAA Girls Tennis Team Dual State Tournament.

Leading the way for the Eagles were its trip of singles players Paige McCormick, Marissa Burian and India Rohl who all won their matches.

Tanis Lee and Grace Wanzek won their No. 2 doubles match for the Eagles. 

Minot scored a win at No. 1 doubles with Sidney Ressler and Sienna Ronning winning their match.

In the individual portion of the 2022 NDHSAA Girls Tennis State Tournament, West Fargo Sheyenne senior Mimi Gu repeated as individual singles state champion with a 6-3, 6-0 win over Jamestown’s Phoebe Olson. The Minot doubles combo of Eden Olson and Sofia Egge also repeated as state champions on Saturday, June 4 defeating Fargo Shanley’s Madeline Abbott and Julia Wolf 6-0, 6-3.
