Fargo Davies Claims Class A Girls Track and Field Team State Title

BISMARCK – Make it two straight NDHSAA Class A Girls Track and Field team state championships for the Fargo Davies Eagles.

Davies posted 158.7 points to claim the championship on Saturday at MDU resources Community Bowl.

Davies individual state champions were: junior Kaia Beil winning the 100-meter hurdles (15.82 seconds), freshmen Sally Korgho winnign the 300-meter hurdles (44.43 seconds) and junior Alya Kretchman winning the pole vault (10-6).

Davies also scored state championships in the 4x100 and 4x200 meter relays.

Grand Forks Central senior Karly Ackley swept the distance races winnin the 1,600 meters on Friday and the 800 and 3,200 meters on Saturday.

Bismarck Senior Cara Haussler won three individual titles on Saturday (100, 200 and 400 meters) and also was the anchor leg of the Demons' 4x400-meter relay team that won a state championship.

West Fargo senior Akealy Moton set a new Class A and overall state record in the shot put winning the event with a throw of 48 feet, 6 inches.
