VALLEY CITY, N.D. – Each Friday NDHSAA Media Specialist Tom Mix posts several NDHSAA Fun Facts on the NDHSAA NOW site. Keep visiting each Friday and learn more about the NDHSAA and its rich history of sponsoring education-based athletics and activities in North Dakota.

  • Bismarck High has played in the NDHSAA boys soccer state tournament championship match eight times (1996, 1997, 1999, 2007, 2001, 2013, 2015, 2017). Of those appearances, the Demons won four state titles (1996, 1997, 2015 and 2017).

  • Fargo South defeated Bismarck High 1-0 in the 1999 NDHSAA boys soccer state championship match.

  • West Fargo defeated Bismarck Century 2-1 in a second golden goal overtime during the 2010 NDHSAA boys soccer state championship match.

  • Mandan has qualified for the NDHSAA boys soccer state tournament four times (1996, 1997, 2009 and 2017).

  • Minot defeated Grand Forks Central 2-1 in overtime during the 2006 NDHSAA boys soccer state championship match.

  • Mike McNair of Fargo Central High School won three straight NDHSAA boys tennis individual singles state titles from 1961-63.

  • Blake Hankey of Fargo South won back-to-back NDHSAA boys tennis individual singles state titles in 1992 and 1993.

  • Tyler Davis and Jacob LaDouceur of Grand Forks Red River won back-to-back NDHSAA boys tennis individual doubles state titles in 2007 and 2008.

  • Joe Rubin of Grand Forks Central won three straight NDHSAA boys tennis individual singles state championships from 1985-87.

  • Minot has won three NDHSAA boys tennis team dual state championships (1980, 1981 and 1988).
