Teams Looking to Repeat at State XC

Four teams will be looking to continue their dominance on Saturday at the State Cross Country Meet in Valley City at Bjornson Golf Course. 

In Class A, the Bismarck boys will be trying for their ninth straight team title.  In the final coaches poll of the season, the Demons were ranked number one, followed by Fargo Davies and Grand Forks Central.  The individual title is up for grabs with the graduation of three time State Champ Jake Leingang (University of Oregon).  The top three runners in the final poll were Matt Gotta (Bismarck), Brandon Scheel (Davies), and Jackson Binstock (Dickinson).

As for Class A girls, Bismarck will try to repeat and win their fifth title in seven years.  In the final poll, the Demons were ranked second, behind their crosstown rivals, the Century Patriots.  Bismarck’s Brittany Brownotter will be running for her second straight title.  Other top runners in the final poll were Jordan Jacob (Century) and Lexi Zeis (Bismarck).

In Class B boys, New Town will be trying to repeat and win their eighth team title in ten years.  New Town was ranked number one in the final poll followed by Beulah-Hazen and Medina.  Individually, in the final poll, Shiloh Christian’s Elliot Stone was ranked first, followed by Ryan Wheeling (New Town) and Jacob Horgeshimer (Lisbon).

The Hillsboro/Central Valley girls will be trying to win their third straight team championship.  They were ranked first in the final poll, followed by Kildeer and Shiloh Christian.  Individually Ashley Neumiller of Carrington topped the final poll, followed by Asha Smith (Watford City) and Symbria Bell (New Town).
