Bismarck Legacy wins Class A Boys Track and Field Championship

BISMARCK – Bismarck Legacy's boys track and field team made program and school history on Saturday at the MDU Resources Community Bowl.
The Sabers scored 143 team points on its way to the 2017 NDHSAA Class A Boys Track and Field state championship, which is also the first boys team state title in school history.
Leading the way for the Sabers was senior Brandon Lewis, who won the 100-meter dash (11.07 seconds) and the long jump (22 feet, 10.5 inches). Senior Alex Brosseau also won the 200 meters (22.05). Junior Austin Wolf won the high jump (6 feet, 7 inches). Sophomore Matt Kraft won the javelin (186-09).
Legacy's 4x100 meter relay also scored a state title on Saturday.
Fargo Davies senior Hunter Lucas won the 800 and 3,200 meters on Saturday to go along with his 1,600 meter win on Friday.
Dickinson senior Mike Herauf set a new Class A and overall state record in the pole vault clearing 15 feet, 7 inches.
