NDHSAA Board Synopsis - (December 1, 2022)

VALLEY CITY, N.D. – The North Dakota High School Activities Association Board of Directors met in person in Valley City on Thursday, December 1.

The following were agenda items were discussed or acted on:

• The Board accepted the 3-Class Basketball Proposal presented by the 3-Class Basketball Focus Group and voted unanimously to move forward with a finance study and impact to existing or new staff study to be presented at a Special Board Meeting on February 8, per current Board of Directors Policy for adding a classification in a sport or activity.

• The Board approved NDHSAA State Tournament site recommendations made by the Combined Tournament Committee for the 2029-30 school year. 7-Year NDHSAA Tournament Site Rotation

• The Board approved an Executive Board Committee recommendation to add an individual region tournament and team dual state tournament for girls wrestling.

• The Board approved a Tournament Committee Report that included 2023 Fall sports region tournament site recommendations.

• The Board approved a Realingment Committee Report that included finalized Region Assignments for the 2023 NDHSAA Football Season.

The next scheduled Board meeting is January 19 in Valley City.
