7.     Devils Lake HS Request
  a.    Please see attached letter requesting to begin the JV Boys' Basketball season one day early in order to participate in the Ramsey County Invitational Tournament.

8.     Grand Forks HS Request
  a.    Attached you will find two documents, one from Todd Olson, Grand Forks AD and another from Paula Anderson with event documentation.  Section III, part a, on page 25 of the By-Laws is the reference.  This appears to have international ramifications, which is an allowable reason for approval.

9.     Fargo South HS Request
  a.    Attached is documentation from Fargo South High School requesting an exceptional baseball player be allowed to participate in a clinic/camp after the start of the high school baseball season. CLICK HERE for link to baseball camp information.

10.  Baseball Request (11:00 audience)
  a.    Attached you will find a letter from Joel Swanson, Shanley High School Baseball Coach requesting an audience with the Board on behalf of all North Dakota Baseball Coaches.  He will be speaking to the out of season coaching rule for baseball that will go into effect the summer of 2012.

11.  District Chair Recommendations
  a.    Attached you will find information for Athletic Review.  On that grid you will find District Chair recommendations.

12.  Athletic Review
  a.    For the Athletic Review process, Sheryl, Dave and Brenda will review with the Board the minutes from coaches advisory.  The grid indicates the actions of the Athletic Review Committee.  The grid and minutes are attached for your information.

13.  Class A Review
  a.    Attached you will find a grid with Class A recommendations for Board consideration.

14.  Assistant's Position
  a.    The Finance/Personnel Committee was actively involved in the interviews for the position of Asst. to the Exec. Sec. that is being vacated through the retirement of Dave Carlsrud. The recommendation is for the Board to approve the hire of Matthew Fetsch, Grafton HS Activities Director, and offer him a two-year contract for the amounts of $70,000 and $75,000.
  b.    I will provide a brief report of interview process.

15.  Realignment Committee Report

  a.    Rick Jacobson is chair of this committee and will report of meetings held and/or make recommendations concerning the following items:
   i.     Regional Placement for Valley City High School
   ii.     Enderlin HS Request regarding region alignment for softball

16.  Fine Arts Committee Report
  a.    Steve Swiontek, committee chair, will report on discussions that were held regarding regional music contests and procedure for management disregarding NDHSAA rules and regulations.

17.  Officials Committee Report
  a.    Pete Moe is chair of the committee and will report on the following items that were discussed.  Committee recommendations will be made concerning:
   i.     On-line rules clinics for coaches and officials.
        1.     Review Baseball
        2.     Discuss whether to proceed or discontinue
   ii.     Retention of July 1 as an early registration date for officials, and discuss windows for registration with late fee.
   iii.     Change sub-varsity registration name to local and adjust the $28 fee to $30.
   iv.     Review of NDOA minutes (attached)-$2.00 fee increase recommendation

18.  Speech Requests
  a.    Attached are letters of appeal from the following member schools:
                                               i.     Enderlin HS
                                             ii.     Wolford HS
                                             iii.     Bowbells HS

19.  Minnesota Showcase
  a.    Attached is a request from David Hoff, representing North Dakota Amateur Hockey.  As you will see in his letter, the Minnesota event replaces the Chicago Showcase.  The Board has approved the Chicago Showcase event in years past.

20.  LRG/NFHS
  a.    The National Federation is promoting a contract with a company call The Licensing Resource Group.  LRG establishes agreements with large corporate stores such as Walmart to sell school clothing with the required LRG/NFHS hang tag.  As this clothing is sold, local schools, NDHSAA, NFHS and LRG would each get a percentage.  I will share my thoughts with the Board at the meeting.

21.  NFOA
  a.    As a 100% state, our dues will increase by $5.00 per official.  This will amount to an estimated $7,000 increase for the Association.  At the last meeting this was discussed and the Board was asked to determine what part of that increase will be covered by NDHSAA and what part by the officials.  Attached are minutes from the NDOA Board meeting indicating support for a $2.00 increase in officials' registration. 

22.  Building
  a.    By meeting time there should have a formal offer for our old building.  The Board will need to determine whether to accept this counter offer or not.

  a.    Attached you will find a letter from Sean Safranski, HS Principal, requesting an audience with the Board for reconsideration of a hardship denial.  This was placed on the agenda at the request of a Board member.
