FARGO – Cheers for the Linton/HMB Lions roared loud in the FARGODOME in back-to-back weeks.

On November 13, the Lions football team won a NDHSAA 9-man football state championship and eight days later the school’s volleyball team was giving cause for even more celebration for the Linton/HMB faithful.

Linton/HMB defeated Langdon Area/Edmore Munich 3-0 (27-25, 25-20, 26-24) in the championship match of the 2020 NDHSAA Class B Volleyball State Tournament on Saturday, November 21.

The victory completed an undefeated season for the Lions (25-0) and also marked the program’s first ever state championship. The Lions had previously played in one NDHSAA Class B state championship match – a 3-0 loss to Langdon in the 2010 final.

Teegan Scherr led the way for the Lions with 20 kills, 18 digs and two ace serves.

Cora Badding (13) and Lexis Olson (11) paced the Cardinals with double-digit kill performances. Langdon Area/Edmore/Munich wrapped up the 2020 season with a 22-3 record.
