Bismarck High & South Border grab individual team wrestling state titles

FARGO – The individual portion of the 2024 NDHSAA Wrestling State Tournament wrapped up Friday, February 16 at the FARGODOME.

Bismarck High scored 219 points to win its seventh consecutive Class A team individual state championship.

South Border won its program’s fifth NDHSAA Class B team individual state championship scoring 185 points.

Bismarck High senior LJ Araujo became the eighth prep boys wrestler in state history to win five individual state championships. Araujo won the 2024 Class A Boys 172-pound state championship.

He joins Boeden Greenley (Lisbon), Kyle Burwick (Hettinger/Scranton, Erik Loepp (Oakes), Scott Glasser (Bismarck High), Levi Haugen (Bishop Ryan) and Dave Hilliard (Lakota) as five-time state champions. West Fargo High’s Jordan Shearer is the only prep wrestler in state history to win six individual state championships.
