NDHSAA September Board Meeting Synopsis

VALLEY CITY, N.D. – The North Dakota High School Activities Association’s Board of Directors met Thursday, September 26.

Highlights of the meeting included:

  • The Board’s Football Committee met prior to the Board Meeting and presented a report that included a survey for member schools concerning the upcoming football plan for the 2021 and 2022 football seasons. 

  • The Board approved renaming the NDHSAA’s Distinguished Service Award to the Robert D. King Distinguished Service Award. Robert D. King served as the Executive Director of the NDHSAA from 1988 to 1999.

  • The Board approved moving the Class B girls golf season to the fall starting in the fall of 2021 to begin the 2021-2022 school year. The schedule will mirror the Class A girls golf season.

  • The approved several recommended items from Athletic Review.


  • The Board approved the following requests for changes to 2019-20 region tournaments.

  1. 2019 Region 8 Volleyball site from Ray to Stanley

  2. 2019 Region 1 Volleyball Tournament site from Central Cass to Fargo Civic Center

  3. 2020 Region 1 Girls Basketball Tournament – Dates changed from Feb. 24, 25, and 27 to Feb. 24, 25, and 28
