Jamestown's Meghan Ford three-peats, Williston wins team crown

JAMESTOWN, N.D. – Jamestown senior Meghan Ford completed her prep cross country running career on Saturday, October 24 by winning a third-consecutive NDHSAA Class A girls cross country individual state championship.

Ford locked up the three-peat in convincing fashion racing to a time of 17 minutes, 58.83 seconds – 40 seconds faster than the next finisher in the field during the 2020 NDHSAA State Cross Country Meet hosted at Parkhurst Recreation Area in Jamestown.

The three-peat was the first to be achieved in Class A girls since Tarin Lachowitzer won three straight from 2009-2011 with Fargo South and Fargo Davies high schools.

Jaelyn Ogle of Watford City finished in second place with a time of 18:37.60.

In the team competition, Williston edged Bismarck High by three points to win the program’s first ever Class A girls state championship. The Coyotes scored a team total of 75 points and were paced by Eleni Lovgren (4th, 18:57.23), Dru Zander (7th, 19:03.22) and Sierra Watterud (16th, 19:50.29).
