NDHSAA and BEK Broadcasting Network reach five-year agreement on NDHSAA Tier II Television Contract

VALLEY CITY, N.D. – The North Dakota High School Activities Association Board of Directors has approved a contract with the BEK Broadcasting Network for television broadcast rights for NDHSAA Tier II events.

Contract approval was finalized at the NDHSAA Board of Directors meeting held Thursday, November 30 in Valley City.

The five-year agreement covers NDHSAA Tier II television broadcasts starting in the 2018-19 school year through the 2022-23 school year.

Tentative Postseason events to be broadcasted by BEK Broadcasting Network include:

- State Boys Soccer (5th place, 3rd place and championship matches)

- First Round of 9-man football playoffs (Up to three games)

­- First Round of Division A/Second Round of 9-man football playoffs (Up to three games)

- Quarterfinals of Division AAA football playoffs (Up to three games)

- Quarterfinals of 9-man, Division A, Division AA football playoffs (Up to three games)

- Semifinals of Division AAA football playoffs (Up to two games)

- Semifinals of 9-man, Division A, Division AA football playoffs (Up to three games)

- Class B Regional Volleyball (Up to three Regions)

- Class A East Region Volleyball (two state qualifier matches and championship match)

- Class A West Region Volleyball (two state qualifier matches and championship match)

- State Volleyball (All matches A & B)

- State Wrestling (A & B Championship Duals)

- State Wrestling (A & B Individual Championship Matches)

- Class B Regional Girls Basketball (Up to three Regions)

- Class A East Region Boys and Girls Basketball

- Class A West Region Boys and Girls Basketball

- Class B Regional Boys Basketball (Up to three Regions)

- State Class A Baseball (Five Games: Semifinals, 5th, 3rd & championship games)

- State Class A Softball (Five Games: Semifinals, 5th, 3rd & championship games)

- State Class B Baseball (Six Games: Semifinals, 7th, 5th, 3rd & championship games)

- State Class B Softball (Six Games: Semifinals, 7th, 5th, 3rd & championship games)

- State Girls Soccer (5th place, 3rd place and championship matches)

Tournaments included in the NDHSAA Tier II television contract are highly anticipated sporting events in the state of North Dakota. NDHSAA Executive Director Matt Fetsch is pleased these events will be televised through the partnership with the BEK Broadcasting Network.

Tier II Televised Events expand NDHSAA Postseason Television Coverage  

The NDHSAA Tier II Television Contract is separate from its Tier I Television Contract. Tier I events (Dakota Bowl Football State Championships, Boys & Girls State Hockey, Class B Girls Basketball State Tournament, Class B Boys Basketball State Tournament and the Class A Boys and Girls Basketball Tournament) broadcasts will be produced by Forum Communications Company.
