NDHSAA Board Synopsis: May 1 Meeting

VALLEY CITY, N.D. – The North Dakota High School Activities Board of Directors met on Friday, May 1 via conference call.

Highlights of the May 1 NDHSAA Board of Directors Meeting included:

• The NDHSAA Board of Directors voted to cancel the remaining 2020 NDHSAA Winter Postseason Basketball Tournaments, Spring Sports and Spring Fine Arts Contests. The cancellation applies to all remaining Association sponsored athletic and arts contests and postseason events. The suspended activities practice guidelines were amended and remain in effect. • The Board acted on several recommendations from its Executive Board. Action items are listed below:

• The regularly scheduled NDHSAA Board of Directors Meeting scheduled for June 8-9 will now be held in a one day virtual format on June 8.

• Officials Registration for the 2020-21 school year will be opened at a later date. Details on when the opening of registration will be made on or before August 1.

• Region sites for canceled spring events in 2020 will host those events in spring of 2021. Any changes to the sites will require Board of Directors action.

• Preparticipation Physical Examinations completed for the 2019-20 school year will be accepted during the 2020-21 school year upon submission of a parent and athlete signed waiver (previously known as Form B).  

• Class B Boys Basketball Ticket Refund information will be posted on NDHSAA NOW Website (www.ndhsaanow.com) week of May 4.
