ON THIS DATE (September 11, 2016): Carson Wentz makes NFL Debut

VALLEY CITY, N.D. – On this date (September 11, 2016) 2011 Bismarck Century graduate Carson Wentz made his National Football League regular season debut playing quarterback for the Philadelphia Eagles.

Wentz, who was drafted by the Eagles in the first round (2nd overall) of the 2016 NFL Draft, was 22 of 37 passing for 278 yards and two touchdowns in Philadelphia’s 29-10 win over the Cleveland Browns.

Prior to his NFL debut, Wentz starred at North Dakota State helping the Bison to NCAA Division I Football Championship Subdivision (FCS) National Championships in 2014 and 2015. Wentz was also an All-State quarterback in 2010 playing at Bismarck Century High School.
