VALLEY CITY, N.D. – Former North Dakota prep golf standout Tom Hoge now has a PGA Tour victory to add to his stellar golfing resume.

Hoge won the 2022 AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am championship on Sunday, February 6 shooting a 68 to beat three-time major winner Jordan Spieth by two strokes.

Hoge joins Paul O'Leary (Bismarck) and Mike Morley (Minot) as North Dakotans to win a PGA Tour event. Morley was born in Morris, Minn., but was raised in Minot.

On Sunday, Hoge made his move in the final nine holes. Hoge shot a 36 on the front nine and it appeared Spieth would keep the pack at bay and go onto win the event.

Hoge, the event’s Day 1 leader, had other plans. Hoge shot a 32 on the back nine holes playing mistake free golf to capture the prize that has eluded him up to this point during his professional career. The former Bruins standout birdied three of the last five holes on Sunday.

Hoge was 19-under for the tournament and won 1.566 in prize money. The PGA Tour win also gives Hoge an invite to the Masters which will take place in April at Augusta International Golf Course. Hoge will become the first North Dakotan to play in the famed tournament since Oxbow amateur Mike Podolak played in 1983.

Hoge, a 2007 Fargo South graduate, had been playing well of late with two top fives in his last four starts, including a solo second at the American Express a few weeks ago.

Hoge played his collegiate golf at Texas Christian University (TCU). He won the Bobcat North Dakota Open as an amateur in 2006. His only victory as a professional came in 2011 when he won on the Canadian Tour.
