NDHSAA and Forum Communications Company reach five-year agreement on NDHSAA’s Tier I Television Contract

NDHSAA NEWS RELEASE: Tuesday, April 30

VALLEY CITY, N.D. – The North Dakota High School Activities Association Board of Directors has approved a contract with Forum Communications Company for television broadcast rights for NDHSAA’s Tier I events (Dakota Bowl Football State Championships, Boys & Girls State Hockey, Division A & B Girls Basketball State Tournaments, Division A & B Boys Basketball State Tournaments, and the Division AA Boys and Girls Basketball Tournaments).

Contract approval was finalized during a NDHSAA Board of Directors meeting held April 30.

The five-year agreement covers NDHSAA’s Tier I television broadcasts through the 2028-29 school year. Forum Communications Company recently completed its 11th year of producing television and live video web streams of the NDHSAA’s Tier I State Tournaments – a partnership that began during the 2013-14 school year.

“It is such a great pleasure to extend our partnership with NDHSAA,” Vice President of Broadcast Joshua Rohrer said. “Forum Communications believes in the importance of a strong partnership with the North Dakota High School Activities Association and the student activity participants of North Dakota. The student athletes represent hard work and determination. Their achievements should be broadcast on statewide television, and will continue to be, thanks to this partnership.”

State Tournaments included in the NDHSAA’s Tier I television contact are some of the most anticipated sporting events in the state of North Dakota and NDHSAA Executive Director Matt Fetsch is enthusiastic about continuing the partnership with Forum Communications Company.

“We are thrilled to continue our partnership with Forum Communications,” Fetsch said. “They have demonstrated a commitment to the NDHSAA and its member schools, as well as high school sports fans across the world.”
