VALLEY CITY, N.D. – The North Dakota High School Activities Association Board of Directors has approved a contract with Forum Communications Company for television broadcast rights of NDHSAA’s Tier II events.

Contract approval was finalized during an NDHSAA Board of Directors meeting held June 11 in Valley City.

The five-year agreement covers NDHSAA’s Tier II television broadcasts through the 2028-29 school year. Forum Communications Company recently completed its 11th year of producing television and live video web streams of the NDHSAA’s Tier I State Tournaments – a partnership that began during the 2013-14 school year.

NDHSAA Tier II postseason events include all NDHSAA-sponsored region and state tournaments not included in the NDHSAA’s Tier I State Tournaments (Dakota Bowl Football State Championships, Boys & Girls State Hockey, Division A & B Girls Basketball State Tournaments, Division A & B Boys Basketball State Tournaments, and the Division AA Boys and Girls Basketball Tournaments), which are also being televised & live video web streamed by Forum Communications Company through the 2028-29 school year.

As the NDHSAA’s Tier II media rights holder, Forum Communications Company will have first declaration rights to televise and live video web stream NDHSAA Postseason Tournaments included in Tier II.

“We are absolutely thrilled to expand our partnership with NDHSAA,” Vice President of Broadcast Joshua Rohrer said. “By adding another Tier of State Tournaments to our broadcast and streaming lineup, Forum Communications is helping to create a true television home for High School Athletics in the state of North Dakota while expanding coverage for the dedicated student athletes who participate, and the viewers watching.”

Postseason contests and tournaments included in the NDHSAA’s Tier II television contract are highly anticipated by fans across the state of North Dakota and NDHSAA Executive Director Matt Fetsch is enthusiastic about enhancing an already strong partnership with Forum Communications Company.

“Forum Communications Company has a strong viewership and for over a decade they have demonstrated a commitment to broadcasting NDHSAA Postseason events,” Fetsch said. “Postseason games and tournaments included in Tier II will continue to gain large amounts of exposure with Forum Communications Company as the NDHSAA’s Tier II media partner.”
