CSTAND Convention

The Communication, Speech, and Theatre Association of North Dakota (CSTAND) will be sponsoring its fall convention September 12-14 at the Mandan Seven Seas.  This event is for teachers, coaches, directors and judges who work with students throughout the high school and collegiate level and provides a tremendous learning opportunity for ND educators in this field. 

Topics including instructional management and style, post-secondary preparedness, and event-specific coaching strategies will be presented and are geared towards new coaches and seasoned veterans alike.  NDSU will be offering credit to pre-registered individuals who complete preliminary assignments and sessions at the conference.

Last year, CSTAND had presenters from the National Federation of State High School Associations (NFHS) and National Forensic League (NFL).  I had the privilege of collaborating with these individuals and was surprised to learn, that compared nationally, CSTAND’s conference was second in attendance and topic offerings only to the Texas UIL’s Capitial Conference.
