To register as an official in the NDHSAA, you first need to have an account on NDHSAA.com. For instuctions on creating an account on NDHSAA.com, check out our Create an NDHSAA Account tutorial.
Once you have an account setup, officials registration is a simple form directly on your account profile.
After clicking Officials Registration, you will see a form. Out-of-state reciprocity officials will need to click on the Reciprocity Form button at this point.
In-state officials will want to continue down the page answering the provided questions. Click Next.
On the next page you will need to fill out your contact information (this helps schools and the NDHSAA reach you for officiating needs) and then you will select which sports you wish to officiate. It is important to note that there are two different registrations for each sport. The checkboxes on the left are for regular, varsity officiating (highlighted in red), and the checkboxes on the right are for Local/Sub-varsity officiating (highlighted in blue). For more information on Local/Sub-varity officiating go to https://ndhsaa.com/officials/local-official.
If you need help verifying or updating your concussion management through NFHS Learn you can check out the Check Concussion Management and Update Concussion Management tutorials.
Click Submit Registration at the end of the form. After submission you will have the opportunity to pay online with a credit card, or if you so chose you may print off your order and mail it in along with a check.
Remember, you are not registered until payment is received and processed by the NDHSAA, and are no eligible to officiate until such time.
Once processed, you will receive an email verifying approval and you will then receive rule books and an officials packet in the mail.
